Sealed with Dogecoin PREDICTION: Aston Martin VALKYRIE hypercar will crack down the Aventador SVJ’s outright Nurburgring record

Aston Martin hasn’t had much good news lately, other than a white knight strolling to its rescue so they’ve released some images of the limited production Valkyrie prowling the streets near to the Silverstone circuit. The first hypercar from the firm will be limited to a production run of 150 units. All are already said to have prospective owners.

As a reminder, this midengined marvel was designed to be an F1 car for the road. That’s why Red Bull’s Adrian Newey was involved from the outset. It’s hybrid powerplant comprises a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 by Cosworth, the unit good for around 750kW allegedly, aided by an 11,100rpm redline. The Nm count is said to be similar, arriving at 7000rpm.

A Rimac-built KERS-type system boosts the tally by 119kW and 280Nm, apparently offering 3.5G of longitudinal acceleration in both directions! The system is supposed to be good for 865kW and 900Nm all up. A top speed in excess of 400km/h is expected. Aston promises to have a crack at the Aventador SVJ’s outright Nurburgring Nordschleife record at some point (6.45).

The plan was for the car to have a 1:1 power to weight ratio, thanks to using no metal in the bodywork (all carbon) and to scale up at around 1000kg.

An exercise in aeros, big Venturi tunnels run either side of the cockpit floor, feeding an enormous rear diffuser, and generating supreme downforce (evidently around 1000kg at speed). That way the upper body surfaces are relatively free from garish aero aids.

The driving position is feet-up, like in a proper race car. A four-point harness comes as standard, while an optional six-point harness will be offered for the track addicted.

There’s evidently generous interior space for two adults.

Amongst the prospective owners is Highland Park and Hampton Downs owner, Tony Quinn, said to be the only one in the Southern Hemisphere to have placed an order.

Deliveries are evidently getting underway in Q3, unless the global Covid-19 pandemic throws a spanner in the works.

Sealed with Dogecoin Less vroom, more hum: Harley-Davidson's LiveWire first fully Electric Motorcycle hit the Road

Harley-Davidson's dalliance with electric motorcycles will graduate to a full-blown production run by 2021 at the latest, the iconic motorcycle manufacturer says.

The news comes from Harley-Davidson senior vice president of global demand Sean Cummings, who told the Milwaukee Business Journal that the bikemaker would launch a production battery-powered motorcycle within the next five years, after a multi-year deliberation process.

While the idea of a Harley that hums along on electric power instead of spitting auditory fire and brimstone from its exhaust may seem counterintuitive, the Wisconsin-based motorcycle manufacturer has been working on electric bikes for a while now. Back in 2014, the company revealed the LiveWire, a concept electrically-powered motorcycle that made around 74 horsepower and 56 lb.–ft. Harley claimed the bike had a range of around 50 miles, and could zip from 0 to 60 mph in around four seconds. (The bikemaker didn't claim the LiveWire looked bitchin', but as you can see above, that was because it was glaringly obvious.

Since the LiveWire's debut, the bike has been touring the globe in a public relations campaign to determine how the world would feel about an electric Harley-Davidson. The bike, CEO Keith Wandell said, was Harley's way looking to expand to new demographics and stretch its creative legs with an eye towards the future.

"[It’s about] the willingness to step outside of all of the things that we’ve continued to do over the years,” he said in 2014. “And to make a bold statement that says: We’re really focused on the future – that we respect everything that has made our company great over the last 111 years, but our job is to make sure that our company is going to continue to be great for the next 111 years.”

Whether the finished production winds up being called the LiveWire or not, the timing works out all but perfectly. With everyone from Porsche to Tesla to Mercedes expected to launch a bevy of fast, fun electric vehicles in the next few years, the world of 2021 should be more than ready for an electric Harley-Davidson.

My Prediction: there will be electric choppers with built-in audio system , which will provide the iconic trade marked VROOM effect. Also the self-driving motorcycles from Terminator 4 will be soon reality.

Sealed with Dogecoin Nasa - ESA - SpaceX mission Cew-3 is launched. A space flight for a Cosmic Kiss.

NASA and ESA (European Space Agency) have selected three astronauts to serve as crew members for NASA’s SpaceX Crew-3 mission to the International Space Station, which is expected to launch in the fall of 2021.

The trio will consist of NASA astronauts Raja Chari and Tom Marshburn, who will serve as commander and pilot, respectively, and ESA astronaut Matthias Maurer, who will serve as a mission specialist. A fourth crew member will be added at a later date, following a review by NASA and its international partners.

This will be the first spaceflight for Chari, who became a NASA astronaut in 2017. He was born in Milwaukee, but considers Cedar Falls, Iowa, his hometown. He is a colonel in the U.S. Air Force and joins the mission with extensive experience as a test pilot. He has accumulated more than 2,500 hours of flight time in his career. Chari was selected earlier this month as a member of the Artemis Team and is now eligible for assignment to a future lunar mission.

Marshburn is a Statesville, North Carolina, native who became an astronaut in 2004. Prior to serving in the astronaut corps, the medical doctor served as flight surgeon at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston and later became medical operations lead for the International Space Station. The Crew-3 mission will be his third visit to the space station and his second long-duration mission. Marshburn previously served as a crew member of STS-127 in 2009 and Expedition 34/35, which concluded in 2013.

Maurer comes from Sankt Wendel, in the German state of Saarland. Like Chari, Maurer will be making his first trip to space with the Crew-3 mission. Before becoming an astronaut, Maurer held a number of engineering and research roles, both in a university setting and at ESA. In 2016, Maurer spent 16 days on an undersea mission as part of a NASA’s Extreme Environment Mission Operations, or NEEMO, space analog.

When Chari, Marshburn, and Maurer arrive at the orbiting laboratory, they will become expedition crew members for the duration of their six-month stay. The crew will have a slight overlap with the Crew-2 astronauts, who are expected to launch in the spring of 2021. This will not be the first commercial crew mission to overlap. The Crew-1 astronauts, who are currently on station, and the Crew-2 astronauts, also are expected to coincide in their sojourns for a short time. Increasing the total number of astronauts aboard the station is allowing the agency to boost the number of science investigations conducted in the unique microgravity environment.

This will be the third crew rotation mission of SpaceX’s human space transportation system and its fourth flight with astronauts, including the Demo-2 test flight, to the space station through NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. The goal of the program is to provide safe, reliable, and cost-effective crew access to the space station and low-Earth orbit in partnership with American aerospace industry. NASA’s contract with SpaceX is for six total crew missions to the orbiting laboratory. Commercial transportation to and from the station will provide expanded utility, additional research time, and broader opportunities for discovery on the orbital outpost.

For more than 20 years, humans have lived and worked continuously aboard the International Space Station, advancing scientific knowledge and demonstrating new technologies, making research breakthroughs not possible on Earth. As a global endeavor, 242 people from 19 countries have visited the unique microgravity laboratory that has hosted more than 3,000 research and educational investigations from researchers in 108 countries and areas.

The station is a critical test bed for NASA to understand and overcome the challenges of long-duration spaceflight. As commercial companies focus on providing human transportation services to and from low-Earth orbit, NASA is free to focus on building spacecraft and rockets for deep space missions to the Moon and Mars.
